Gil Amestoy wins 4th Energy Trust of Oregon Award…in a row!

Portland, Oregon, February 9, 2009 - Gil Amestoy of Eoff Electric Supply in Portland, Oregon was awarded the Energy Trust of Oregon top distributor award in January. This is the fourth year in a row that Amestoy and Eoff received this award.

"My favorite part of this job is presenting the cash incentive checks to the customers. Their excitement and surprise, even though they knew they would receive the cash incentive, is very fun to see,” said Amestoy.

Eoff coordinated projects saving over 2.5 million kWh for businesses and organizations in Oregon and SW Washington in 2008.

Amestoy started in Lighting and Energy Management in 1996 for Eoff. Prior to that, he sold lighting projects for a local contractor. His first project with Eoff was a lamp and ballast retrofit in Vancouver changing T-12 lamps and magnetic ballasts to T-8 lamps and electronic ballasts. Now his primary focus is converting HID lighting facilities to much more efficient T-5 lamp fixtures. Now LED’s have lighting options for retrofitting.

"We can take all the guesswork and hassle out of lighting upgrade, which just so happens to save a ton of electricity. And on top of that, we coordinate getting a large portion of that lighting upgrade paid for through tax rebates and cash incentives. We handle all the paperwork and project coordination for the customer,” Amestoy added.

Mike Lindner, long-time Energy Management Director for Eoff, said “Gil had developed relationships over the years with the Energy Trust, Oregon’s Department of Energy, BPA, and local utilities. This allows him to solve problems very quickly, to get projects funded and to keep the projects moving to completion.”

Lindner also added, “Literally every job Eoff has done in energy management is high quality that we are proud to say we were involved in that project.”
